Jorge Eliécer Alba Imbachi SIERRA MORENA Pink Bourbon - Washed Colombia

This harvesting and cherry selection represented in this Pink Bourbon lot is as close to perfect as we have seen in Colombia. The cup is bright, crisp, and sweet, with a pointed lemonade-like acidity, excellent berry complexity and a floral transparency.

Orders are roasted on Tuesday and shipped on Wednesday.

ABOUT JORGE ELIÉCER ALBA IMBACHI

We are releasing this separation from Sierra Morena under the name of Wilson Alba's nephew: Jorge Eliécer Alba Imbachi. Jorge is responsible for all of the post-harvest processing on the farm and is an integral part of why coffees from this farm have been tasting so good!

ABOUT PINK BOURBON

Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.

The cost of getting a coffee from cherry to beverage varies enormously depending on its place of origin and the location of its consumption. The inclusion of price transparency is a starting point to inform broader conversation around the true costs of production and the sustainability of specialty coffee as a whole.
