Mariela Muñoz EL NACEDERO - COPA DE ORO PINK BOURBON - WASHED Colombia

We are excited to introduce Mariela Muñoz, a new producer to our lineup whose coffee placed 4th in this year’s Copa de Oro. This is our first year working with her, and we are honored to showcase her work. In the cup we find pronounced sweetness with notes of strawberry preserves, raspberry, and lime zest.

Orders are roasted on Tuesday and shipped on Wednesday.

ABOUT MARIELA MUÑOZ

One of the main reasons we continue to participate in the Copa de Oro competition, hosted by our friends and exporting partners at Osito, is the opportunity to meet new producers seeking access to the specialty market. Although we have worked in this region for many years, it is always humbling to be reminded just how many exceptional coffees—and dedicated producers—we have yet to discover.

ABOUT PINK BOURBON

Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.

The cost of getting a coffee from cherry to beverage varies enormously depending on its place of origin and the location of its consumption. The inclusion of price transparency is a starting point to inform broader conversation around the true costs of production and the sustainability of specialty coffee as a whole.
